    Style really oldschool bullet style.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox acceleration is verygood and reach 100kmph just at 10 sec, which is awsome. What ever your speed or acceleration sure milage of 30+kmpl.

Ride quality & handling nothing to write about typical bullet ride and handling, through breaking is quite heavy for its raw power above 100kmph, but one can control anyspeed just playing with clatch and gear.

Final words if you experience a rael royal enfield just go for it.

Areas of improvement nothing raelly, but i am one of the unhappy customer if re service station.

    Pros

    power, comfort, acceleration

    cons

    breaking and service...

Buying experience is ok. Riding experience is best. After one year my bullet is still eye catchy, off course its serviced on time so getting mileage 32+ always on highway and 25 in city. Some time tapped noise is there but if you equipped with good exhaust you will enjoy thump instead of irritating engine noise. Above 100 km/h vibrations are there on handle bar and foot step. I experience top speed of 136 km/h. But normally i enjoy ride @ 75 km/h.

I had waited for quite a long time for the carburetor version of uc 500 engine since i was sceptical about the fuel injection. I am old school and prefer to stay that way. I have owned and used most of the old models of re right from 1972 standard 350 and surprisingly this 500 turned out to be more trust worthy and reliable than any of their previous old school models ( i mean the engine in all aspects?. All it needs a regular service with a good mechanic who should be willing to learn this new engine. He should be honest to stop if he has any idea or doubt about what he is doing. Which interprets directly that this is a problem free lady. The traits however is a noisy engine and you should get used to it specially to ignore it. The cam noise crops up very often and sometime it needs changing otherwise you got a sexy mistress with you. Let all you fantasies come true.

    Buying experience:-

I'd purchased this bike from heighten automobiles, faridabad (haryana).

    The buying experience was good.

They had provided me with a test drive and confirmed my booking after giving booking amount. This bike has a long waiting period. They promised me to deliver the bike in the time of 6 weeks.

    Riding experience:-

Outrageous...Such an outrageous feeling you'll get while riding this bike. It'll give you a presence on road and some turnarounds. This bike is not for riding at high speeds like above 100kmph but it'll amaze you at moderate cruising speeds. It emphasises a tourer feeling in you. This bike can take you to places.

    Looks:-

As a tourer and cruising bike, it has an eye catching look which force the people to ask about it from you.

This bike carries a royal legacy with it which is very famous all over India.

The quality of paint is fabulous and will not degrade after a long time.

    Performance:-

The performance of this bike is very blasting. It generates a good amount of torque which helps in uphill riding. This bike doesn't exhausts while riding uphill.

The thundering sound for which this bike is famous for, feels very good while riding.

As this bike has not much amount of power(bhp), so it takes time to go above 100 kmph mark. Braking is good but not as other sporty bikes under this price tag.

    Servicing and maintenance:-

The servicing cost for this bike is 2000rs per service including oil change.

As this bike has all metal body, so it's a scratch magnet. You have to be very careful about the scratches to maintain the shine of the bike.

    Pros:-

    Thundering sound

    All metal shining body

    Vintage looks

    Good amount of torque

    Road presence

    Riding pleasure

    Comfortable seats

    Good riding stance

    Cons:-

Vibrations after 100kmph mark as the engine is air-cooled

Fuel economy is 20kmpl on an average which is not so economical. But it should be in mind that it has a 500cc engine

It has no tubeless tires. It has old school tube tires

It has no any fuel gauge.

It cannot ride at fast speeds as other bikes which falls under same price tag like ktm's.

    Conclusion:-

This bike costs me 185000rs. This bike is a passionate thing which all people doesn't like but it is for only passionate people.

If you have a passion about bullets, you will definitely like the bike. But if you wants a sporty and fast riding bike then you can go somewhere else.

I'm 6ft1in tall. I previously own a royal enfield classic 350. And let me share my experience. I'm one of the several people who fell for the looks of the motorcycle, who fell for its connect with the person who rides (possibly due to the vibrations), who fell for its low end torque, who fell for its sound. Initially it will attract you a lot and it will make you feel like a king of the road. As you are on love with the bike, you will love its pros and love even more for its cons! now coming to the performance it is a lazy elephant which took almost 16seconds to reach 100kph, with a ton of vibrations. But you will love it during short rides and can't cope with after 30minutes. Because after riding over 100kph over 30minutes, your hands will be numb and your whole body vibrates. And to come over this feeling, you need a healthy 30minutes of break. So riding under 80kph helps but not much by a significant margin. So, let's talk about the comfort, with the stock handlebar, I've had a lot of lower back pain. With rd350 handlebar, classic's perch is better for at least 30 minutes if ridden sanely under 80kph. After that, I've sharp pain in my knees due to constant vibrations from footpegs no matter the rpm you choose to ride. If ridden above 80kph, two more pains will shoot: one from my shoulders and other from my b**t due to the vibrations it has on offer. Talking about mileage, it will provide me 33kpl if ridden over 100kph, 38kpl if ridden at 80kph, 44kpl if ridden under 60kph.Throttle response is lazier due to carburetor, now it is much better due to the addition of fi. Brakes are poor, front disc is less bitey and rear drum brakes are wooden (now even comes with rear disc, but still feels wooden). Ride quality is good. Tube tyres are a problem. (tubeless is on offer today)and coming to the maintenance part, it digs a hole in your pocket during paid service. Free service costs a maximum of inr.1500. But paid service cost minimum is inr.2500. And at 24000kms, a paid service costed me around inr.10,000. People at royal enfield service centre never repairs but just replaces. It may be due to the sub-par quality of the spare parts. So, on even years (after first year with free services) you need to allocate around inr.6000 for servicing it. And on odd years, you must pay inr.8000-10,000 for servicing. In 3years of ownership, i've spent around inr.25,000 for services alone. I've used it for 3years and ridden it for 30thousand kilometers and finally have sold it due to heavy vibrations which causes me consistent right shoulder pain and also high maintenance it demands over years. Finally the resale value is good. Conclusion: it is pointless to buy 350cc machines from royal enfield today. Better opt for their 411cc or 650cc machines. If you want to buy a 350 from enfield, wait for their j platform launch. Thank god, they bid adeu for their 500cc uce engines. Don't commit the mistake I've once committed. Still in august 2020, this classic 350 is their best seller. Royal enfield doesn't want to let their milching cow, that's why they are gonna introduce the new j platform engines in their lower selling model, thunderbird. People must change!!! for those who are in a hurry to buy a classic or bullet 350, wait till j platform's launch.

Hello guys Royal enfield provides a good buying experience to its customers so you will always have a peace of mind apart form the waiting period nothing else will come in your way . Even though i was lucky i didn't have to wait . The main reason i didn't really had to wait is because people today are mad about the classic and thunderbird . let's talk about the looks the standard 500 is a looker it is a bike pumped up with testosterone . The forest green paint with the pin striping is just amazing imagine in this day of mass production a human had painted your bike . Slowing this bike starts growing on you . All ways remember the name bullet is bigger than the name royal enfield and may it me a electra , classic , thunderbird people always refer these bikes as bullet This bike has more than enough performance great for highway tours and safe to handle Earlier this bike used to come with a carburetor but now it is available with a fuel injection system this is good and a bad thing good because your throttle response increases but the cost of maintenance increases all models with efi system should be taken good care of Most importantly the injector system should be cleaned regularly other you will face bike misfiring , worn out spark plugs For you to be always satisfied with your bike you should always take good care of your bullet service it properly and service it in your supervision because some things in the bike is really time consuming to service so mechanic ten to skip it All the best buy a std 500 and everything else will fall in place and you will fall in love with your bullet.

  • Bullet king of roads but problem with the maintenance

    Prabhakar

There are no complaints about the bike with regards to riding. But the main problem starts with the after sale service and maintenance . First point there are no good or experience mechanics for the bullet even if there are , its difficult to get the slot for servicing your bike and they take minimum three days to deliver . Second point the dealers after sales support is pathetic and they are not aware of the problem the bike is having and we need to go back to them couple of times to get the problem rectified even after servicing is done. Luckily i managed to identify a good mechanic for my bullet but the problem is getting a slot for the service takes one or two days. But to ride a bullet on Indian roads it gives a different status.

No vibration at all, smooth and good sound. But the back tyre is smaller, thats only the problem. Good on highway roads average 75-80 kmph. I recommend everyone to buy re bullet 500 rather than classic 500. Mileage is 42 kmph .No sound while riding , complete silent. It is a standard bike because completely smooth and good for every use. 4 1/2 stars out of 5

Price are perfect. Feels like king. It’s has a classic look with a smooth finishing and also with a vintage style .It’s a heavy vehicle which holds a good grip and had a good balance and results a best feeling while driving . It’s parts are easily available and in a good price. It has a low maintenance problem. My personal review for this bike is the best for a long ride because it has a power, comfort , looks & grips.

Bought the bullet 500cc with great expectation and excitement but it did not feel good after riding it. Riding experience is below average. Incident traveled 300km to kodikanal reaching there chain sprocket gone. Bike ride in rain self did not work after that short circuit. Overall a poor ride. Looks is really stunning and amazing but performance wise its not met. Poor service and maintenance.

    Pros:

    1. Elegant look

    2. Comfortable for single traveler

    3. Good shock absorber.

    Cons:

    1. Poor maintenance

    2. Tank does not be ridden in reserve mode as it will damage the air filter

    3. Poor self start system in rain it wont start

    4. Hand jerking while going above 80kms( funny 500cc bike cannot go farther than 8o kms)

    5. Back traveler seat not comfortable for long drive will cause spinal injuries and back ache.

    6. Silencer too low. When we turn a big right turn or hair pin the silencer touches the road.

    Vansh Bhutani
