The last week was all about new two-wheeler launches along with leaks and spy shots of upcoming bikes. While we already reported about all of these developments in detail, here’s a quick round-up for the busy bees who couldn’t be up to speed with the happenings of the Indian two-wheeler industry last week.
KTM 250 Adventure low seat variant launched
KTM India launched the lower seat variant of the 250 Adventure. It has been priced at Rs. 2.47 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) which is the same as the standard trim. The seat height of the standard 250 Adventure is 855mm, which makes it difficult for shorter riders to place their feet on the ground while riding. But now, with the lower seat height of 834mm, the 250 Adventure is far more accessible.
Ather Energy introduced a new base variant of its 450 electric scooter in India. The company announced the new 450S that will be sold as the entry-level variant of the 450 range. It uses a smaller 3kWh battery pack that is claimed to deliver an IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of 115km and a top speed of 90kmph. This variant is also likely to carry fewer features than the 450X range. It is priced at Rs. 1,29,999.
Kinetic is all set to revive the Luna moped but this time in an EV avatar. Interestingly, we got our hands on the first image of the e Luna and it looks quite similar to its ICE predecessor. Retaining the commuter and utility aspects, the e-Luna will get a fairly simple structure with a square headlight flanked by bulb indicators and probably an LCD console. Similar to its rival, the TVS XL 100, the e-Luna would get a split seat with storage space and a crash guard at the front as well as a grab rail at the rear.
We caught a glimpse of the upcoming KTM 390 Duke test mule again ahead of its imminent launch in the Indian market. While the test mule did not reveal any new details about this roadster-segment motorcycle, it gave a quick look at the instrument cluster on the vehicle. The console looks noticeably different from the unit on the current model which packs a wide range of ride-related information. Thus, we may see some additional data on the new model.
Next-gen Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 spied
Another interesting image we got our hands on last week was that of the next-generation Husqvarna Svartpilen 401. The motorcycle was spotted at a factory stockyard in its production-ready avatar. The motorcycle boasts a fresh design, a roomier seat, and a set of hardware borrowed from the upcoming KTM 390 Duke. Also, unlike its 250cc sibling which gets block-pattern tyres, this 401 was equipped with road-biased Metzeler rubbers. The official launch is likely to take place towards the end of this year.
