Yamaha XSR155 Launched: Top 5 Highlights

Yamaha recently launched the XSR 155 in India, priced at Rs. 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The neo-retro roadster is based on the Yamaha MT-15’s platform, but is positioned below it. Let’s take a look at the top five highlights of the XSR 155.

    Design

The Yamaha XSR 155 features a distinctive neo-retro styling that blends retro charm with modern underpinnings. The round LED headlamp and taillight, sculpted teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and the flat single-piece seat lend it a classic roadster appeal. Adding to its premium feel are brushed metal panels and minimalist bodywork.

Yamaha offers two official customisation kits – Café Racer and Scrambler – to personalise it according to your individual taste. The Café Racer kit gives the bike a sportier, low-slung stance with a headlight cowl and a scooped-out café-style seat with a hump. Meanwhile, the Scrambler kit adds rugged touches like a stubby fly screen, headlight cover, and side number plates for a scrambler-inspired look.

    Engine

Powering the XSR 155 is a 155cc, liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation. It produces 18.1bhp and a peak torque of 14.2Nm. The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox. This engine is known to offer linear power delivery and refined performance.

    Features

Feature-wise, the XSR 155 gets an LED headlamp and taillight, digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, and a traction control system. Other features include dual-channel ABS and an assist and slipper clutch as standard.

    Hardware

Under the bodywork, the Yamaha XSR 155 is underpinned by a Deltabox frame, suspended on upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in tubeless tyres.

    Price and Rivals

Like we mentioned earlier, the Yamaha XSR 155 is priced at Rs. 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in four colours, and all paint schemes are priced similarly. Although the XSR 155 doesn’t have any direct rivals, it will face competition from the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and the TVS Ronin.
