Yamaha R3 and MT-03 Prices Reduced by Rs. 20,000

• R3 costs Rs. 3.39 lakh now
• MT-03’s price goes down to Rs. 3.30 lakh

With the recent imposition of a new GST slab in India, motorcycles below 350cc have become more affordable. The tax on this category of bikes has gone down from 28 per cent to 18 per cent, resulting in a considerable drop in prices of a lot of two-wheelers. Falling in this category are two of Yamaha’s popular premium offerings in India, the R3 and MT-03.

Since both bikes are powered by an engine smaller than 350cc, they have received a drop of around Rs. 20,000 in their prices. Following that, the R3 is pegged at Rs. 3.39 lakh while its naked sibling, the MT-03, costs Rs. 3.30 Lakh (both prices are ex-showroom). Notably, this is the second price cut received by these bikes in 2025. In January, Yamaha had reduced their prices by a staggering Rs. 1.10 Lakh, making them substantially more accessible as compared to when they initially debuted in 2023.

The Yamaha R3 and MT-03, which are based on the same platform but boast different clothing, are lovely motorcycles to ride. Their characterful 321cc, twin-cylinder engine and a well-engineered chassis deliver an involving riding experience, which few bikes in this category can match. However, their initial prices kept them way above their closest rivals, like the Aprilia RS 457 and Tuono 457, making the Yamahas quite unattractive as propositions. However, the prices now make complete sense, and the bikes should attract an increasing number of buyers.
