Yamaha India registers 33% growth in December

- Sold 39,224 units in December 2020

- Registered a 33 per cent increase in year-on-year sales

- Expects the overall demand to grow in 2021

Yamaha Motor India has reported its sales data for December 2020. Last month, the Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler brand sold 39,224 units as against 29,486 units in December 2019. The year-on-year sales grew by 33 per cent.

The company has reported growth in its sales volumes consecutively over the past six months. Yamaha Motor India expects the overall demand to grow in 2021 owing to varied demand for personal mobility.

The company’s current line-up comprises of three scooters, the Fascino, Ray ZR, and the Ray ZR Street Rally. The motorcycle range includes the YZF-R15 Version 3.0, MT-15, FZ FI, FZS FI Version 3.0, FZ 25, and the new FZS 25.

In more updates, Yamaha has registered the FZ-X brand in India. The details are scarce, although it suggests that the company is looking to introduce a new motorcycle, possibly an adventure bike, in the country.
