- Two year warranty coupled with eight years extended warranty
- Applicable on all Yamaha two-wheelers in India
- Warranty program is transferable to subsequent owners
Yamaha, as part of its 40-years in India milestone celebrations, has announced a 10-year Total Warranty Programme on its entire motorcycle and scooter range. The programme comprises a two-year standard warranty and an eight-year extended warranty. The warranty covers the engine and electrical components, as well as the Fuel Injection or Fi system.
In the case of Yamaha scooters, the warranty is applicable for ten years or one lakh kilometres, whereas all the made-in-India motorcycles like the R15 and the FZ series will be covered up to 1.25 lakh kilometres.
Yamaha adds that the Total Warranty Programme is available for new customers at no additional cost for a limited period of time. After the limited-term offer ends, customers can opt for the extended warranty by paying a nominal amount.
The best part, however, is that this Warranty Program is transferable to subsequent customers, which means the second or even the third owner of the bike can avail the benefits of the extended warranty, should anything go wrong with the two-wheeler.
A ten year warranty is surely going to help alleviate concerns associated with owning a scooter or motorcycle over a long period of time. It will also boost customer confidence and should have a positive impact on sales.
