- Runs on a 4kWh high-capacity fixed battery
- Certified range is 160km
- Price to be announced in Q1 2026
Yamaha has finally entered the Indian electric two-wheeler space by unveiling the new EC-06. It’s a quirky-looking maxi electric scooter, which will be launched at a later stage. Yamaha has released some details about it before the launch and here’s what they are.
The EC-06 runs on a 4kWh high-capacity fixed battery pack, which is claimed to have a certified riding range of 160km. This battery powers a 4.5kW electric motor, which generates a peak power of 6.7kW. The scooter's top speed has not been revealed yet. It can be charged at home through a standard socket, which takes around 9 hours to fully charge the scooter.
It is a bit modest on the feature front with an LCD dash, unlike the Aerox-E, which gets a TFT screen. However, there is a built-in telematics unit with a SIM, enabling real-time connectivity and data access. There are three modes to choose from, along with a reverse mode to make it easier to move the scooter in tight and tricky parking spaces. Adding to the practicality quotient is a sizeable 24.5-litre under-seat storage provision.
The price of the Yamaha EC-06 and plans related to its deliveries will be announced in the first quarter of 2026.
