WSBK: Nicky Hayden is no more

2006 MotoGP Champion Nicky Hayden has succumed to his injuries sustained in an accident that occured during training in Italy

He was currently riding for the Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team. He also has an AMA Pro Superbike Championship title to his credit (2002) and came fifth in the riders' standings in the 2016 WSBK Championship. Hayden was put into a medically induced coma after surgery to help his healing but unfortunately that never came to pass.

More than being a champion, Hayden will be remembered for being one of the few champions that never made an enemy while rising to the top. The 'Kentucky Kid' will always be one of nicest but fiercest competitors the motorsport world has ever seen.

Rest in peace, Nicholas Patrick Hayden.
