The most powerful production ready electric bike at the 2018 Auto Expo has just been launched. The UM Renegade Thor, a 270km range cruiser has been launched at a whopping Rs 4.9 lakhs.
The Thor is powered by a 30kW motor that churns out around 70Nm. It gets a five-speed gearbox and liquid cooling on cooler and battery management system. The company claims that 80 per cent of the battery is charged under 40 mins through its fast charger. The first 50 customers gets lifetime free charging from any UM showrooms. However, the other customers will get just two years of free charging.
The Thor gets 17-inch wheel at the front that is fitted with 120/80 section tyre and 15-inch wheel at the rear with 150/90 tyre. The braking work is taken care of by 280mm disc upfront and 240mm disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is standard. The company has another variant of Thor on sale but that's priced at Rs 9.9 lkahs. It gets full colour TFT display and a few exclusive customised components.
A few Thor customers will get an opportunity to take delivery of the bike from its Italy factory. The Thor is a completely-built-up(CBU) unit for now, but it will be later manufactured in India for the world.
