- Based on a brand new platform
- Powered by a new 299cc, liquid-cooled RTX D4 engine
- To compete against the KTM 250 Adventure
TVS Motor Company is all set to launch its first ever adventure tourer, the Apache RTX 300, in India today, 15 October. It will be based on a brand new platform and will compete against the likes of the KTM 250 Adventure and Royal Enfield Scram 440.
The TVS Apache RTX has already been spotted multiple times, revealing a lot of details about it. Visually, it is a handsome-looking motorcycle, at least in pictures, with a sleek and wide headlamp crowned by a tall windscreen and a tiny beak-like panel underneath. The seemingly big fuel tank adjoins muscular side panels and the split-type seat is accompanied by a purposeful-looking luggage rack. It is easy to gauge from the pictures that it will have a good presence.

Powering the bike will be the company’s new 299cc, liquid-cooled RTX D4 engine. It makes 35bhp and 28.5Nm of peak torque, and is paired with a six-speed gearbox. Under the bodywork, a steel trellis frame is suspended by a USD fork and monoshock. The bike rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, and braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends. Further, we expect TVS to offer a plethora of features such as a colour TFT display, ride modes, and traction control.
Now, it remains to be seen how aggressively TVS prices the motorcycle, which will play a key role in determining its popularity and sales.
