Triumph Tiger XCa- What else can you buy?

Triumph has launched the Tiger XCa in India with a price tag of Rs 15.16 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Tiger XCa is the top-spec variant in the Tiger 800 line-up and retails at a premium of Rs 1.13 lakhs over the Tiger XCx. While it directly competes against the BMW F850GS and Ducati Multistrada 950, there are nine other bikes that retail around the XCa’s price tag; here’s what the list looks like-

While there are no adventure-touring bikes in this list, you do have the option of a sports-tourer from BMW, the R 1200 RS. The bike sports a semi-fairing that houses asymmetrical headlamps similar to the S 1000 RR. BMW retails the R 1200 RS at Rs 15.55 lakhs. It also offers the bike in a streetfighter avatar; the R 1200 R at Rs 15.05 lakhs. Both bikes are powered by a 1170cc, boxer-twin motor with 125Nm of torque. However, the unit on the R 1200 RS produces 121.6bhp whereas the R 1200 R puts out 124bhp.

If you are on the lookout for a streetfighter motorcycle, there are four options in this list. Honda has the CB1000R with a price tag of Rs 14.46 lakhs. The bike thanks to its circular full-LED headlamp sports a retro appeal to it. Powering the bike is a 999cc, inline-four engine that produces 141bhp and 104Nm of torque.

The Kawasaki Z900 RS on the other hand is a complete neo-retro bike inspired from the legendary Z1. Priced at Rs 15.30 lakhs, the bike gets a generous use of chrome along with a round headlamp and twin-pod instrument cluster that adds to its old-school character. The Z900 RS uses a 948cc, inline-four mill that puts out 108bhp and 98.5Nm of torque.

Kawasaki also offers the extremely futuristic-looking Z1000 at Rs 15.10 lakhs. The bike is powered by a 1043cc, inline-four engine that produces 139bhp and 111Nm of torque. MV Agusta offers the Brutale 800 with a price tag of Rs 15.59 lakhs. Sporting unique features like the triple-exhaust and ‘floating seat’, the bike is quite a head-turner. It uses a 798cc, inline-three motor that produces 107bhp and 83Nm of torque.

The list also offers two scrambler-styled motorcycles; the Indian FTR 1200 and BMW R Nine T Scrambler priced at Rs 14.99 lakhs and Rs 15.55 lakhs each. The Indian FTR 1200 is powered by a 1203cc, V-twin engine that puts out 118bhp and 115Nm of torque. Meanwhile the BMW R Nine T Scrambler’s 1170cc, boxer-twin motor produces 107bhp and 116Nm of torque.

Now , the only fully-faired motorcycle around the price of the Triumph Tiger XCa is the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade. Underneath the bike’s full-fairing is a 999cc, inline-four engine that generates 186bhp and 114Nm of torque.  Honda has priced the bike at Rs 16.43 lakhs.

All prices ex-showroom, Delhi.
