Triumph Motorcycles is set to launch its latest cafe‑racer offering, the Thruxton 400, in India tomorrow. Latest sightings suggest that the motorcycle has started reaching dealerships across the country.
The Triumph Thruxton 400 will be available in a minimum of three triple-tone paint schemes: yellow, red, and black. Each colour option features a contrasting silver bar on the fuel tank and seat cowl, along with black/red accents (depending on the main colour).
Based on the Triumph Speed 400 platform, the Thruxton 400 sports a distinctive cafe‑racer styling with a retro-styled semi‑fairing, round LED headlamp, clip‑on handlebars with bar‑end mirrors, and a rear cowl.
Powering the Thruxton 400 is the familiar 398cc, liquid‑cooled, TR-series engine producing 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a six‑speed gearbox. It will be offered with a host of modern features such as LED lighting, dual‑channel ABS, traction control, semi‑digital instrument cluster, and a USB charging port.
The Thruxton 400 will be positioned as a premium offering in Triumph’s 400cc lineup and is likely to sit above the Scrambler 400 X. It is expected to be priced at around Rs. 2.70 lakh (ex‑showroom).
