- Speed 400 now priced at Rs. 2,33,754
- Speed T4 at Rs. 1,92,539
- Price drop, despite GST increase on 350cc+ motorcycles to 40 per cent
Triumph Motorcycles has announced a price reduction for its Speed 400 and Speed T4 models just before the festive season. The ex-showroom price cut goes up to Rs. 16,797, with the Speed 400 now priced at Rs. 2,33,754 and the Speed T4 at Rs. 1,92,539. The Speed 400 was earlier priced at Rs. 2,50,551, and the Speed T4 at Rs. 2,06,738.
The decision comes at a time when the Goods and Services Tax on motorcycles above 350cc has been raised to 40 per cent, which led to price hikes across the industry. Triumph and Bajaj have opted to absorb the added costs.
The two models form the backbone of Triumph’s mid-size motorcycle line-up in India. Since their introduction, the Speed range has seen healthy growth with monthly sales nearly doubling through FY23–24. Manik Nangia, President of Probiking at Bajaj Auto, noted that absorbing the GST impact shows Triumph and Bajaj’s dedication to long-term market growth rather than short-term gains.
