- Rs. 28,000 more expensive than the X model
- Gets tubeless, cross-spoke wheels
- Main technical specifications remain the same
Triumph has launched the new XC variant of the Scrambler 400 with a price tag of Rs. 2.94 lakh, ex-showroom. That makes it Rs. 28,000 more expensive than the standard model of the bike.
Things that set the Scrambler 400 XC apart are tubeless, cross-spoke wheels with the same 19-17-inch diameter as the standard trim. It also gets a body-coloured flyscreen and front fender, which, in our opinion, makes it look better and more rugged than the base model. Moreover, an aluminium sump guard and engine crash guards come with the bike as standard. Triumph has also introduced three new colours of the XC, including Racing Yellow, Storm Grey, and Vanilla White.

Apart from these distinctions, the Scrambler 400 XC remains the same as the more affordable X model of the bike. It continues to be powered by the same 398cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the Scrambler 400 X. This single-cylinder motor produces 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The suspension setup has 150mm of travel at both ends, ground clearance is 195mm, and the seat height is 835mm. On the feature front, there is traction control, switchable ABS, ride-by-wire throttle, assist and slipper clutch, and a USB charger.
The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC will compete against the Royal Enfield Scram 440 and the Yezdi Scrambler.
