Triumph Rocket 3 GT India Launch: What to expect?

Triumph Motorcycles India has confirmed that it will update its product portfolio with the launch of the Rocket 3 GT. The motorcycle will be launched in the country on 10 September 2020. Here we tell you what to expect from the upcoming Triumph Rocket 3 GT.

Design

The new Triumph Rocket 3 GT is the touring focused version of the Rocket 3 R that is already available in India. The touring character of the motorcycle is enhanced by forward-set footpegs, a touring-style handlebar, a taller windscreen, adjustable pillion footrests, heated grips, and a pillion backrest as standard. The feature list comprises of LED headlights, Bluetooth-enable TFT display with GoPro control, and a single-sided swingarm.

Engine

The Triumph Rocket 3 uses the largest displacement engine on a production motorcycle. The 2500cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor produces 165bhp of maximum power at 6,000rpm and 221Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed transmission.

Hardware

The suspension setup on the Triumph Rocket 3 GT includes 47mm upside-down forks at the front and a mono-shock at the back – both sourced from Showa. Anchoring setup comprises of dual 320mm discs with Brembo M4.30 Stylema four-piston radial monobloc callipers at the front and a single 300mm disc with Brembo M4.32 four-piston monobloc calliper at the back.

The Triumph Rocket 3 R is available for Rs 18 lakh in the Indian market. The GT variant, with the added equipment, will most likely carry a price premium. We can expect the GT to arrive close to Rs 18.5 lakh mark.
