Triumph Bonneville T120 Black: Top 5 Highlights

Triumph has launched the Bonneville T120 Black edition in India at Rs 9.97 lakh (ex-showroom); the same price as the standard Bonneville T120. Here we highlight five features of the special-edition motorcycle.

Blacked-out look

The Bonneville T120 Black is true to its name and sports a completely blacked-out look. So most of the shiny chrome that featured on the standard Bonneville T120 has been replaced by black-finished components. The engine, exhaust, mirrors, headlamp cowl, turn signal mountings and rims are black, lending the special-edition a unique appeal.

However, minute touches of chrome on the instrument cluster bezel, badging, and rear suspension add contrast to the Bonneville T120 Black. Moreover, Triumph has also replaced the standard black seat with a dark brown one that further distinguishes the special-edition.

A 1200cc engine

Powering the T120 Black is the same 1200cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that does duty on the standard model. This motor is capable of producing 79bhp at 6,550rpm and 105Nm at 3,100rpm and it comes paired to a six-speed gearbox with a torque-assist clutch.

Equipped with electronic aids

Triumph has equipped the Bonneville T120 Black with ABS, ride-by-wire throttle, traction control, and two ride modes- Road and Rain. Furthermore, it also gets heated grips, an LED DRL, LED tail lamp as well as a USB charging socket, as standard.

Optional accessories

Nevertheless, Triumph is also offering the motorcycle with accessories like a Vance & Hines chrome exhausts, stitched seats, chrome-finished clutch lever, alternator, and throttle body embellishers as well as a special Triumph fuel-tank badge.

Unchanged cycle parts

The Bonneville T120 Black is fitted with the same suspension and braking hardware as the standard model. Suspension duties are taken care of by 41mm, KYB telescopic forks up front, and preload-adjustable twin shocks at the rear. On the other hand, braking is done by twin 310mm discs for the front and 255mm disc at the rear. The motorcycle rides on an 18-inch front wheel and a 17-inch wheel at the rear.
