Suzuki Motorcycle India Ltd. (SMIL) has announced a growth of 19 per cent in sales for March 2014 in comparison to the sales figures in the same month last year.

The company sold 30,594 two wheelers in the last month, while they had sold 25,717 units in March 2013. This boost in overall sales was assisted by the launch of new motorcycles from the manufacturer. The company recently launched the 250cc motorcycle- Suzuki Inazuma and the V-Strom 1000. The manufacturer also unveiled the new 150cc motorcycle- Gixxer and another scooter named Let's. These two wheelers will be launched in the coming months.

SMIL, a subsidiary of Suzuki Motorcycles, has shown a steady progress in terms of sales in our country for the past couple of years. The two-wheeler manufacturer had revealed plans of ramping up the production. Apart from this strategy, Suzuki extended its dealer network not just in urban areas but also in rural regions of our country. Presently, Suzuki has 400 dealers in cities and about 200 dealerships in rural areas. The manufacturer plans to add 300 more in rural regions by 2015.

Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, SMIL, said, “We have received a good response from the market for all our products. The growing customer satisfaction has led to positive word-of-mouth in the market. Building on the existing goodwill in the market, we expect that the four products launched at the Auto Expo- Gixxer, Let’s, V Strom and Inazuma will also show good performance in the upcoming fiscal.  We will continue to give the best to our customers.”
