Royal Enfield motorcycles to get costlier!

-350cc and 500cc range to get a hike of around Rs 1,500 to Rs 2000. 

-Could be due to increase in cost of manufacturing.

-To be in effect from 1 February.

Royal Enfield motorcycles are set to get costlier from 1 February by around 1-2 per cent.

According to our sources, the manufacturer will hike prices of the 350cc and 500cc range which includes the Bullet, Classic and Thunderbird by around Rs 1,500 to Rs 2000. Although it is yet to be confirmed, this hike in price could be due to an increase in manufacturing costs. 

On the other hand, the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 which cost Rs 2.65 lakhs and Rs 2.5 lakhs each will remain the same. Speaking of which Royal Enfield sold 629 units of the 650cc twins in December 2018; its highest sales number for any parallel-twin bike in India. While most of its line-up gets ABS, one of its highest-selling models, the Bullet 350 is yet to get the safety feature. We can expect Royal Enfield to launch the ABS-equipped version of the bike in the next few weeks.
