Royal Enfield will likely launch the Classic 650 in India on 27 March. We will be riding it around the same time in India. That said, we have already ridden the Classic 650 in the UK and here is our first ride review.
Speaking of the Classic 650, it will be Royal Enfield's sixth offering on the 650cc platform and will be sold alongside the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Super Meteor, Bear 650, and the Shotgun. The Classic 650 also uses the same 648cc, parallel-twin engine and it makes 46.3bhp and 52.3Nm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Royal Enfield has loaded the Classic 650 with features including LED illumination, dual-channel ABS, and the tripper navigation pod with smartphone connectivity. It resembles the Classic 350 but packs more muscle and size and dons a proper middleweight motorcycle-like proportions. Royal Enfield has equipped the Classic 650 with telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks and the braking is done by a single disc at both ends. While the bike comes with a single-seat setup, the brand also offers a bolt-on pillion seat.
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 will sit below Super Meteor in the brand's portfolio. We expect it to retail Rs. 3.40 - 3.50 lakh, ex-showroom.
