Royal Enfield has finally shown the Bullet 650 in India at Motoverse 2025. Bullet is already a very popular nameplate that has carried generations of riders. The twin cylinder upgrade is an exciting turning point for its patrons. Expected to go on sale in the beginning of 2026, most likely around January, the company has not yet shared the price. Stepping into Royal Enfield’s 650 twin family will further enhance it with modern performance and long-distance ability.
The Royal Enfield Bullet 650 carries a long and low stance with a wide single-piece “bench” seat and a relaxed riding triangle that surely feels very much like a Bullet. The tank carries hand-painted gold pinstripes and winged badging. The casquette-style headlamp housing remains with the round main lamp and the familiar “tiger eye” indicators now adorned with LED lighting. A pair of peashooter exhausts in bright chrome stretch towards the rear giving it the classic twin-pipe silhouette that many riders associate with big British twins.
Central to this discussion obviously is the inline twin-cylinder, 647.95cc, four-stroke SOHC engine shared with Royal Enfield’s other 650 models. It generates a linear 46.4bhp of maximum power at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of peak torque at 5,650rpm paired with a six-speed constant-mesh gearbox. Focussing on strong mid-range unhurried cruising feel, Bullet 650 will deliver smooth response than aggressive top-end power. For everyday riders moving up from a 350, this should make the transition to a more powerful machine less intimidating.
The chassis package has also grown up with the bike sitting on a steel tubular spine frame with a telescopic 43mm front fork and twin rear shocks. Front wheel travel is 120mm and rear travel is 90mm suggesting a set-up tuned for comfort on rough Indian roads rather than sharp sportiness. It sits on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels wrapped in 100/90 and 140/70 section tyres respectively. Braking duties are performed by 320mm and 300mm hydraulic discs front and rear held by twin-piston floating callipers with dual-channel ABS.
The seat height of 800mm is very sensible and will suit most average-height Indian riders. Ground clearance is rated at a decent 154mm and kerb weight, with 90 percent fluids, stands at a hefty 243kg. Fuel capacity of 14.8 litres should support long rides.
The Bullet 650 will be offered at launch in Cannon Black and Battleship Blue, both with generous gold pinstriping and period-style logo work. Period-correct touches such as polished switchgear, rotary knobs and an analogue-led instrument cluster sit beside modern additions like an LED headlamp and a small digital display for essentials such as fuel level, gear position and service reminders. The overall impression wants to stay recognisably “Bullet” when you glance at it from across the street, even though almost every part has moved on from the single-cylinder machines.
The 650 upgrade gives long-time Bullet owners a clear upgrade path within the same emotional universe. At the same time, it offers younger riders who have grown up seeing Bullets on Indian roads a chance to buy into the legend in a more modern, twin-cylinder form. With no pricing figure announced at Motoverse, it is difficult to say exactly how large an audience the Bullet 650 will reach. Given the shared platform, it is reasonable to expect that it will sit more or less very close to the Classic and Interceptor 650s. You will have to wait for a couple of months to know for sure.
