Oben Rorr, a Bengaluru-based EV maker, has recently entered the Indian two-wheeler space. Its first offering is the Rorr, an electric motorcycle priced at Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom Pune, post FAME II and state subsidy). However, there are a bunch of other options too in the same price range. Let’s check them out.
Revolt RV400
The first of top five alternatives to the Oben Rorr is an electric motorcycle in the form of the Revolt RV400. It’s priced at Rs 90,799 (ex-showroom Pune) and is eligible for the FAME II as well as the state subsidy. The RV400 packs a 5kWh motor and 3kW swappable lithium-ion battery. Revolt claims that its e-motorcycle can clock 85kmph in Sport mode and offer a range of 90km while the City mode brings the range up to 120km and limits the speed to 65kmph. In the Eco mode, the RV400 can do 156km but the top-speed is cut to 45kmph.
Simple Energy One
Another exciting prospect set to make its debut soon is the Simple One electric scooter which could also be an option. Its asking price is set to Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru) and Simple Energy claims that its e-scooter could offer a whopping 300km of range (using all three battery packs). The company recently announced that it’ll offer a third battery pack but for an added premium. Here’s how much you pay.
Aprilia SR 125
Stepping out of the EV zone, you could also check out the Aprilia SR 125. It’s priced at Rs 1,08,000 (ex-showroom Pune). The sporty Italian scooter recently received some notable upgrades from its previous iterations and now offers a tad more value for money than before. It now gets new styling, updated illumination and other features too. Here are its top five highlights.
Okinawa iPraise Plus
Coming back to electric two-wheeler options, the Okinawa iPraise Plus too can be a potential contender. It retails at Rs 1,05,999 (ex-showroom) and it falls under the high-speed electric scooter category. The iPraise Plus packs a 1kW motor mated to a 3.3kWh removable lithium ion battery with a claimed range of 139km. On the feature front, you get geo-fencing, virtual speed limit, curfew hours, battery health tracker, SOS notifications, trips, GPS, maintenance and insurance reminder, and vehicle status.
Vespa ZX 125
Another petrol powered scooter you could put your money on is the Vespa ZX 125. Unlike the sporty Aprilia offering, this Italian scooter is a proper retro offering. Asking price for the Vespa ZX 125 is set to Rs 1,02,000 (ex-showroom Pune). It’s powered by a 124.45cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 9.78bhp and torque of 9.60Nm. The main USP of the scooter is its looks. The round headlight and the curvy body work, all scream old-school.
TVS iQube Electric
Last but not the least, you could also check out the TVS iQube Electric as a similarly priced two-wheeler alternative. TVS has priced it at Rs 93,088 (on road, Pune, post Fame II subsidy). The iQube Electric houses a 3kW motor mated to three lithium-ion batteries with a collective output of 2.2kW and a maximum range of 75km. It’s loaded with features like LED illumination, a full-colour TFT instrument cluster sporting TVS’ SmartXonnect function. The latter gives you access to Bluetooth connectivity and features like geo-fencing, ride status, remote battery status, incoming calls and SMS.
