- 2025 XSR 125 launched in the UK
- Gets Euro5+ engine
- XSR 155 could be launched in India
Yamaha has taken the wraps off its famous modern retro motorcycle brand – the XSR 125. For 2025, the company has given this bike a host of upgrades.
The most important upgrade has occurred in the performance department. The 125cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine is now Euro5+ compliant, making the same 15.01bhp as the outgoing model. Like the other 125s, the XSR 125 also gets the famous variable valve actuation (VVA) for better top-end performance.

Along with the standard model, the Japanese manufacturer has also launched the Legacy Edition. This variant gets a different paint scheme which looks like it has been inspired by the 1970s bikes. The logo on the fuel tank looks more premium than the standard variant.
Both the bikes will go on sale in the UK very soon. There has been a marginal price increase that usually comes with engine upgrades. Sadly, the XSR bikes are not available in India, even though there’s a massive demand from India, especially for the XSR 155. Yamaha India found the XSR 155 to be a bit expensive for the Indian market, and that is why it launched the FZ-X – a motorcycle based on the FZ platform. While this bike initially did well, it couldn’t pull the crowd like the XSR does. But rumours are suggesting that the XSR 155 could be launched in India in a year or two.
