- Deliveries to commence soon
Ola Electric has launched the new S1 X and the S1 X+ for the Indian market today. These scooters replaced the older model and will go on sale starting today.
The company claims that everything on these electric scooters is new. The chassis has been done from the ground up and is much lighter now. The motor has been heavily reworked and the battery cells are new too. Ola Electric decided to use a chain drive on this scooter – possibly to save on cost. It gets a mid-drive motor with an integrated MCU. This scooter is now equipped with a Brake by Wire Tech. There’s a front disc brake as standard, and the instrument cluster gets segmented LCD treatment.
The new Ola S1 X will be available in three battery options – 2kWh, 3kWh (Rs 90,000) and 4kWh (Rs 1 lakh). The 4kWh variant has a claimed top speed of 123kmph and an IDC riding range of 242 km. The 3kWh can do 113kmph with an IDC range of 176kms and the most affordable variant – 2kWh has a top speed of 101kmph, with a riding range of just 108kms. The peak power output stands at 9.3bhp for the top-spec variant and it can do 0-40kmph in 3 seconds.
The new Ola S1X will be sold in a total five colours – white, blue, red, silver and black. The scooters come with a warranty of 3 years/40,000kms. But there’s an option for the customers to extend the battery warranty to 8 years or 1.25 lakh by paying an additional Rs 14,999.
