- New Z1100 under development
- Gets new 1099cc engine
- Likely to be unveiled at 2025 EICMA
Kawasaki is reportedly working on an all-new Z1100, a flagship naked motorcycle that could sit above the current Z900 in the brand’s global lineup.
The Z1100 nameplate, which has historical significance for Kawasaki, is expected to come back with modern underpinnings and advanced electronics. While technical details remain under wraps, early indications suggest the motorcycle will be powered by a newly developed 1099cc, inline-four engine tuned for a more raw and street-oriented character.
In terms of features, expect the Z1100 to come equipped with a full-colour TFT screen with smartphone connectivity, multiple riding modes, cornering ABS, traction control, and possibly semi-active suspension to match its premium positioning. Kawasaki could also offer top-spec Brembo brakes and high-end Showa or Öhlins suspension components to compete with the likes of the Yamaha MT-10, BMW S1000R, and the Ducati Streetfighter V2.
The new Kawasaki Z1100 is expected to make its global debut in late 2025, possibly at the EICMA motorcycle show, before going on sale in early 2026. Whether it will be brought to India via the CBU or CKD route remains to be seen, but given Kawasaki India's recent push towards premium performance motorcycles, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Z1100 make its way here shortly after its international launch.
