- New Versys 1100 launched
- Gets bigger engine
- Priced almost a lakh cheaper than Versys 1000
Kawasaki India has launched its big sports tourer, the Versys 1100 in India. This motorcycle has been priced at Rs. 12.90 lakh(ex-showroom) and will be available in only one colour option.
Interestingly, the Versys 1000 was available at Rs. 13.91 lakh (ex-showroom) at the time of its discontinuation. Being almost a lakh cheaper, it is clear that Kawasaki India is serious about selling the Versys 1100 in India in decent numbers.
The Versys 1100 gets a bigger motor, thanks to the increase in stroke length. It also gets a higher compression ratio, a heavier flywheel, longer intake funnels inside the airbox, narrower intake ports, and new camshafts with reduced valve lift. Due to these changes, the power output has gone up from 118bhp to 133bhp while the torque has gone up to 112.5Nm. There have been changes made to the gear ratios as well.
In terms of styling, the Versys 1100 looks almost identical to the Versys 1000. But in the hardware area, the bike gets a larger disc brake and a USB Type-C charging port.
Bookings for the new Versys 1100 have commenced at all Kawasaki showrooms, and deliveries will begin in a few days.
