MotoGP: Circuit of Wales being investigated

The government of Wales is investigating the organisation behind the construction of the upcoming racetrack in Wales because so far GBP 9 million (Rs 75 crore) has been spent on it, and allegations have been made against the developers. 

Member of Parliament David Davies, who has evidence handed over by a whistleblower, wants a halt on any public funding until the matter is resolved. Earlier in 2016 it became known that the project's boss, Carrick Cambridgeshire, had billed GBP 35,000 (Rs 29 lakh) to gardening at his residence. The project has had its latest proposal for funding rejected by the government. 

The Circuit of Wales was to break ground in 2013, but nothing has been done so far due to the lack of financial backing. Confusingly, the organisation holds the rights to the British Grand Prix until 2023.
