MotoGP 2026: Aprilia Racing's Marco Bezzecchi wins the US Grand Prix

Aprilia Racing’s Marco Bezzecchi has won the Grand Prix of the United States, in what can be described as an exceptional performance. The Italian rider bounced back after crashing in the Saturday Sprint and has retaken the lead in the 2026 MotoGP World Championship.

    Bez blasts away!

As the lights went out, Bezzecchi launched off the line and went past Pole sitter Diggia on the VR46 Ducati before getting to Turn One. KTM Factory Racing’s Pedro Acosta slotted in first and held the lead for a while before Bezzecchi capitalised on a rare mistake and rose to P1. Acosta was then in hot pursuit with Jorge Martin chasing in third on the second Factory Aprilia.

Despite pressure in the early laps and minor on-track moments among the chasing riders, the Marco maintained a consistent pace and avoided mistakes, once again showcasing the form that has defined his 2026 campaign so far. As the race progressed, Bezzecchi was in control at the front, riding at a pace that others could not match.

The Italian crossed the finish line in P1, unchallenged but he will be hoping that he improves his performance in Sprint races.

    The Martinator is back

Behind Bez, teammate Jorge Martín produced another solid ride to secure second place, completing Aprilia’s second consecutive one-two finish. The Spaniard capitalised on a small moment from Pedro Acosta who ran wide at Turn One during the race, which allowed Martín to move ahead and settle into a comfortable rhythm for the remainder of the Grand Prix. Martin was pleased with the weekend after winning the Sprint and the P2 finish in the Grand Prix.

Acosta eventually finished third, while reigning champion Marc Márquez crossed the line in fifth place after serving a Long Lap penalty earlier in the race. The penalty stemmed from an incident in the Sprint race on Saturday, adding further drama to an already action-packed race weekend in Texas.

The next round of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship will be held in Spain from 23-26 April.
