- Beats Maverick Vinales to grab the top spot
- Vinales finishes second but gets a penalty
- Pecco Bagnaia rises to second while Morbidelli is third
It was a thrilling night under the floodlights at the MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix. The Race was full of intense action, which saw Marc Marquez having to work hard for a well-deserved win.
Marquez Battles it Out
As the lights went out, Marquez made a good start, but it was his brother Alex who was close to him and ready for the attack. The duo, in fact, came together briefly before Marc pulled ahead, with a bit of the rear aero of his Ducati Desmosedici missing. Franco Morbidelli, on the VR46 Ducati, took advantage of all of this and moved into the lead.

As the race progressed, Maverick Vinales on the Tech 3 KTM was in charge, and he managed to wrestle the lead from Morbidelli. Meanwhile, Pecco Bagnaia was also the man to look for, as he stormed through the field to get to the front runners.

Vinales was pushing hard to keep his KTM ahead of Marc Marquez’s Ducati. That’s when he made a small mistake, ran wide, and allowed Marquez through. From then on, Vinales had to respond to Marc’s pace, and he ended up crossing the line in P2 behind Marquez, while Pecco Bagnaia finished in third.
Post Race Drama
Maverick Vinales was celebrating a much-needed P2, as it was the morale booster he needed after his move to Tech 3 KTM and all its struggles to stay with the leading group in races. However, his celebrations were short lived as his KTM was detected to be running a lower tyre pressure than required, leading to an infringement and subsequent 16-second penalty.

As a result, Pecco Bagnaia was promoted to P2 and Franco Morbidelli to P3.

The next round of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship will be held in Jerez, Spain, from 25 April to 27 April.
