- Wins four sprint races in a row this season
- Alex Marquez finishes second
- Franco Morbidelli crosses the line in third
The 2025 MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix Sprint race was another display of Marc Marquez’s mega form this season. The Spaniard won the race with a comfortable margin over his rivals and it looks like another season where Marc is stronger than the rest.
Marc Wrestles Back the Lead
Pole sitter Marc Marquez made a good start when the lights went out, followed by Gresini Racing’s Alex Marquez. Fabio Quartararo, on the factory Yamaha made a decent start as well from P3.

On Lap Two, Alex Marquez fancied his chances and made a lunge on brother Marc while going into Turn One. However, Marc fought back immediately to regain the lead of the race. From then on, there was no looking back as he stretched his lead to over half a second to Alex.

Marquez went on to ride the race unchallenged and clinched his fourth Sprint victory of the season.
The Rest of the Field Plays Catchup
Alex Marquez crossed the finish line in P2 and is still one of the only riders to have posed a serious threat to Marquez. Franco Morbidelli, meanwhile, put on a brilliant race to secure the final step on the podium.

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider could not have asked for a better time to show such a performance as the team boss, Valentino Rossi was trackside and paying close attention to the proceedings.

While one side of the Ducati Lenovo Factory Team was celebrating Marquez’s win, Pecco Bagnaia’s side was left wondering how to fix the issues that he was facing in the race. Pecco finished a distant P8 and will be hoping to make a comeback in the main race on Sunday.
