- Fabio Quartararo crashes out of the lead
- Alex Marquez finishes second
- Pecco Bagnaia crosses the line in third
The 2025 MotoGP Grand Prix of Spain Sprint was full of unexpected twists and turns that saw Ducati Lenovo Factory Team’s Marc Marquez emerge victorious.

Fabio Quartararo’s Misfortune is Marc’s Gain
As the lights went out, Pole sitter Fabio Quartararo made a good start. The Frenchman has been riding incredibly to put his Yamaha up with the dominant Ducati on the grid. In fact, Marc Marquez got past Fabio before going into Turn One but Fabio outbraked Marquez to lead the race. Fabio hadn’t led a race in quite a while and he was fighting tooth and nail to keep the position.

Unfortunately, he crashed after a lap and a half, at the Dani Pedrosa corner while trying to outbrake the hard-charging Marc Marquez. Nevertheless, Yamaha’s performance in the hands of Quartararo was commendable.
Marquez Capitalises and Wins

Fabio’s exit handed P1 to Marc Marquez and from then on there was no looking back. The Spaniard put up a brilliant ride, in front of his adoring home crowd to take the chequered flag. He crossed the line with a gap of over a second to Alex Marquez while Pecco Bagnaia finished third.

The Main Race of the 2025 MotoGP Grand Prix of Spain will take place at 5:30pm IST.
