- SC1-R delivers the highest claimed output gain
- Three Euro 5+ approved slip-on options
SC-Project has introduced a new Euro 5+ approved slip-on exhaust range for the Kawasaki Z1100. There’s S1 titanium, S1 titanium matt black and the SC1-R in both carbon fibre and titanium. The three muffler families, CR-T, SC1-R and S1, are all developed specifically for the Z1100 carrying Euro 5+ homologation.
CR-T adds 1.1bhp at 8,500rpm and 0.6Nm at 7,200rpm, while weighing 80 percent less than the standard silencer. SC1-R has the best claimed gain of the set at 1.9bhp at 8,800rpm and 0.8Nm at 7,400rpm, with a weight reduction of over 60 percent. S1 matches the CR-T for output gain at 1.1bhp and 0.6Nm, while cutting more than 75 percent of the stock silencer’s weight.

CR-T gets an exclusive honeycomb grid at the outlet and is offered with either a carbon fibre or titanium outer sleeve. SC1-R also comes in carbon fibre or titanium, but uses a hydroformed asymmetrical outlet. S1 is available in titanium or matt black and is described as having a hand-welded sector link pipe for a craftsman finish.
The weight loss will have a bigger effect on the riding experience than those tiny power gains on the Z1100’s engine output. Lightening the silencer helps reduce mass mounted high and to one side of the motorcycle improving the feel of direction changes. The claimed torque increase is also modest, so riders will more likely experience the improved handling characteristics and the aural experience of that in-line four.
