We recently came across the 2023 Yamaha R15’s images from a dealer yard and now a new YouTube video has revealed more details about the bike. Here’s what we know.
2023 Yamaha YZF-R15: New Features
While the 2023 model will retain the design bits, it’ll feature a new TFT dash over the current LCD unit in the R15 range. It’ll house all the basic readouts like the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level readout, gear position indicator, lap timer, and more. We also expect it to benefit from smartphone connectivity. Apart from that, the 2023 YZF-R15 could feature LED turn indicators as standard.
2023 Yamaha YZF-R15: Engine Details
The 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor dishing out 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm is also to be retained. It’ll be mated to a six-speed gearbox and feature a quickshifter (depending on the trim). Moreover, Yamaha is likely to update the bike with an OBD 2 scanner to monitor real-world emissions.
2023 Yamaha YZF-R15: India Launch, Price, and Colours
Since the bikes have already started arriving at the dealer yards, we expect Yamaha to make an official announcement very soon. With the new set of updates, the asking price could go up by about Rs 8,000-10,000. For reference, the R15 is currently priced at Rs 1.91 lakh for the M variant and Rs 1.93 lakh for the MotoGP trim. You can expect the updated bike to be available in multiple trims, similar to the current generation, and a few more paint schemes.
