- Runs out of critical component supply
- Plans to reopen production in July
KTM has halted production at its plant in Mattighofen, Austria, again. This time, however, motorcycle production has ground to a halt due to a lack of supply of some components.
These components are critical to the production of the motorcycles and KTM had no option but to stop manufacturing. Word is that the company is yet to clear the dues of certain vendors and that’s why there’s a part’s shortage.
KTM hopes to resume production in July after getting things in order. The Austrian manufacturer has been going through a torrid time in recent times. After facing huge financial losses and nearly shutting shop or being bought, the manufacturer has been working on rebuilding itself.
Meanwhile, KTM India has been on the roll by launching new motorcycles, the latest being the 390 Enduro.
