- Rides on 17-inch spoke wheels and long-travel suspension
- Based on the KTM 390 Adventure
- Likely to be priced at around Rs. 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom)
KTM seems to be gearing up for the launch of the 390 SMC R as the motorcycle has been spied testing in India yet again. The Austrian supermoto is expected to be launched in India in this quarter (April to June 2025).

Similar to the International-spec model, the test mule was spotted running on 17-inch wire-spoke wheels. Whether these will be of the tubeless variety will only be known once the bike is launched in India.
Powering the KTM 390 SMC R will be the same 399cc, liquid-cooled engine from the Adventure and the Duke range. This engine makes 45.3bhp and 39Nm and is known for its strong and punchy acceleration and tractability.

The motorcycle gets WP Apex USD forks up front, which are fully adjustable for compression and rebound. The rear WP monoshock, meanwhile, is adjustable for rebound and preload. The suspension travel stands at a staggering 230mm, which is even higher than its ADV sibling. It gets dual-channel ABS along with supermoto ABS mode.

When launched, the KTM 390 SMC R will be the first sub-500cc supermoto in India, and possibly the most affordable one at that. The SMC R could be all the motorcycle you’d need, given its lightweight construction and the nimble handling that the 390 platform offers.

The 390 SMC R will be positioned between the KTM 390 Duke and the 390 Adventure. We expect it to carry a price tag of around Rs. 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
