Jawa Moto has unveiled a new neo-retro bike abroad, called the 730 Twin. The bike is made by the original Jawa brand based in the Czech Republic, and not Classic Legends, which has licensed the Jawa brand name.
The bike has a retro-inspired design, with a round headlight that looks quite similar to the one we have seen on older Jawa bikes. The tank looks tiny overall, and the exposed frame looks quite rugged. Overall, the silhouette is distinctly sporty and visually appealing.
The new motorcycle is powered by a 730cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 74bhp. The brand is likely going to launch an A2-compliant version, with the power capped to 47bhp for novice riders in Europe.
The retro bike is suspended on a KYB inverted fork and monoshock, and rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. The braking setup consists of a Twin-disc setup at the front with Brembo callipers and Bosch dual-channel ABS. Features-wise, it gets a TFT console with connectivity features, including navigation and call/SMS alerts.
The Jawa 730 Twin looks quite promising and could help the Czech manufacturer make a comeback. That said, the bike is unlikely to come to India, but it is quite interesting to see an iconic brand returning to the motorcycling scene.
