- First E-Clutch application paired with Throttle-by-Wire
- Automated clutch operation while the rider still chooses the gears
Honda’s E-clutch technology comes to the CB750 Hornet for the 2026 model year, making it one of the most approachable big-bike nakeds in the market. Please note that the E-clutch is not an automatic gearbox. Instead, it is a manual transmission where the clutch work is handled electronically, so riders can start moving and change gears without needing to operate the clutch lever every time. So if you’re riding through congestion, let the system take over and operate the clutch for you. Otherwise, you still get full clutch engagement when you wish.

In the Indian market, Honda already has the E-clutch on the CB650R and CBR650R, while the CB750 Hornet is on sale in standard six-speed manual form. India-specific E-clutch announcement for the Hornet is expected with the model update.
The E-clutch introduction for the 750 Hornet comes with a wider electronics package. For 2026, the E-clutch system is being applied to models with Throttle-by-Wire for the first time. The system can blip the throttle when needed, rev-matching engine to rear wheel speed for smoother downshifts. This reduces the little jolts and hesitation that may show up during slow-speed riding, tight turns, or quick changes in pace.
