Honda grows 27 per cent in April

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has reported an impressive growth of 27 per cent in April. This was possible due to the high demand for its scooters.

The Japanese manufacturer sold 2,63,320 scooters in April as compared to 1,97,776 units in the same month last year. In terms of motorcycle sales, the company sold 1,50,651 units, 19,447 units more than in the corresponding month in 2015. The exports stood at 17,040 units as against 11,699 units in April 2015. In all, Honda sold a total of 4,31,011 units, helping it hold the second largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India position.

Honda claims that due to the brilliant performance in April, it has become the number one volume gainer in the Indian two-wheeler industry. Just like each month, the Activa brand, which consists of three scooters, get most of the sales for the company. This is followed by the CB Shine, which is the highest selling 125cc motorcycle in India.
