- CB300R production stopped
- Last known ex-showroom price was Rs. 2.19 lakh
- Low sales could be a reason for discontinuation
Honda has removed the CB300R from its official India website, and the motorcycle is out of production. Dealers across India have stopped receiving stock of the motorcycle, and bookings for the bike aren’t being taken as of now.
Whether this is a temporary production halt or a permanent discontinuation is not known yet. At times, manufacturers suspend production for multiple reasons. One could be the onset of a refreshed model with E20-compliance and other additional updates to make it a better package. A roadblock in the supply chain could be another reason. However, given the fact that the sales numbers of the bike never really took off, there is a high probability that Honda has permanently pulled the plug on the bike. And if that is the case, the company is certainly working on a better replacement to compete in this hotly contested and profitable category of motorcycles.
The CB300R started its journey in India in 2019 as a CKD product. A year later, it was discontinued for not being compliant with the new BS6 emissions norms. The motorcycle came back in 2022 with a lower price tag of Rs. 2.77 lakh, courtesy of more localised components. This was followed by two more price cuts, and the last known price of the bike was Rs. 2.19 lakh, making it a much more enticing package than before. However, owing to the competition in this segment heating up lately with the arrival of seemingly more tech-laden and modern bikes, the CB300R never really found a handsome amount of takers in India.
