- Recalled over a faulty gearshift lever pivot bolt
- Replacement to be done free of cost, irrespective of warranty
- Some bikes manufactured in 2025 were affected
The Honda CB1000 Hornet SP has been recalled in India over an issue with the gearshift lever pivot bolt. The recall affects specific batches of motorcycles manufactured in 2025. The CB1000 Hornet SP was recently launched in India.
Honda says that excessive heat from the exhaust system will cause softening of the painted seat surface, which may cause the pedal pivot bolt to loosen and fall off while riding. This could affect gear shifting.

As a preventive measure, Honda BigWing Topline dealerships will proactively contact individual owners to bring their motorcycles for inspection. Customers can also check if their bike falls under this recall by submitting the motorcycle’s VIN on Honda’s website. If affected, Honda will replace the part free of cost, irrespective of the vehicle warranty.
Honda BigWing Topline dealerships will carry out the recall campaign from the first week of January 2026 across the country. Customers are requested to make a prior service appointment to avoid inconvenience or waiting at the dealership.
The CB1000 Hornet SP is powered by a 999cc, inline-four-cylinder engine that produces 155bhp at 11,000rpm and a peak torque of 107Nm. This motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The bike rivals the Kawasaki Z1100, BMW S1000R, Ducati Streetfighter V2, and the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS.
