Honda has announced the price of its adventure-styled maxi-scooter, the ADV 160. Priced at Rs. 1.70 lakh, ex-showroom, it is considerably more expensive than all of its close rivals, including the Yamaha Aerox 155, Hero Xoom 160, TVS Ntorq 150, and Aprilia SR 175. Honda will retail the ADV 160 through its Redwing and Bigwing dealerships.
Powering the ADV 160 is a 156.9cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 16.09bhp and 14.9Nm, paired with a CVT. It also gets an idle stop-start system for improved fuel efficiency and is compatible with E85 fuel. It is underpinned by a steel frame and rides on telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Braking duties are handled by a front disc and rear disc setup with dual-channel ABS. The scooter rolls on a 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheel.
The Honda ADV 160 stands out from conventional scooters with its tall windscreen, sharp bodywork, muscular front apron, dual LED headlights, handguards and stepped seat. The large front apron gives it a more rugged look, while the overall build quality feels typically Honda. On the feature front, the ADV 160 gets a TFT display with Honda RoadSync, turn-by-turn navigation, a USB charging socket, traction control (Honda Selectable Torque Control), and a 27-litre under-seat storage compartment capable of accommodating a full-face helmet.
