The Hero Xtreme 250R is the most affordable 250cc streetfighter in India, priced at Rs. 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom). We put the Hero Xtreme 250R through our mileage test to find out its real-world fuel efficiency. Here’s a detailed breakdown of our testing parameters and results:
City Riding Conditions
To get a clear idea of what kind of mileage we can expect, we rode the Xtreme 250R through our testing route. This route is a 10km loop, which consists of crowded streets, multiple traffic lights, and some relatively open stretches. We fuelled up the motorcycle and started the test by 9:45am.

We encountered moderate traffic, and the signals were all operational. The goal of the test wasn’t to extract maximum mileage, but to simulate real-world riding conditions a commuter encounters. While riding through open patches of road, we did not exceed speeds of 70kmph, and in signals longer than 30 seconds, we shut off the engine.
Final Results
After riding the bike for 50.9km, we returned to the same pump and fuelled up again on the same nozzle to ensure that we got an accurate reading. After this, the motorcycle consumed 1.67 liters, translating into a mileage of 30.5kmpl.

With the 11.5-litre fuel tank, it should offer a theoretical range of 350.75km in similar riding conditions.
