Harley-Davidson has filed a new trademark for the moniker ‘Bareknuckle’ which is likely to be the name of its upcoming streetfighter model. While Harley intends to acquire the patent, the trademark has not been granted by the US trademark association yet. The company will receive the approval only if it's not been already registered by another entity, which is due to be finalised.
The American bikemaker is working on introducing a line-up of new motorcycles which are a part of its 'More Roads to Harley-Davidson’ plan. The company had revealed the concept version of these machines in July last year which included an adventure bike, a factory custom and a streetfighter. While the ADV has already been named as the Pan America, the other two are yet to be christened. The Bareknuckle largely appeals to the streetfighter owing to its aggressive design.
The streetfighter concept will be revealed in its production form in 2020. The motorcycle will reportedly be powered by a newly-developed 975cc, V-twin, water-cooled motor. Rest of the details about the streetfighter remain scarce at the moment. Harley-Davidson has reportedly planned a whole array of models which will be falling in the 500cc to 1250cc segment. While the Pan America will accompany the streetfighter in 2020, the Custom 1250 model will be introduced by 2021.
Subsequently, Harley is also working on developing a new 338cc street bike in association with the China-based Qianjang Motorcycles. The naked street bike will be made in China and, will be exported to other Asian markets. For more information about this motorcycle, click here.
