- Celebrates 35 years of the Fat Boy
- Part of the Icons collection
- Limited to 1990 units
Harley-Davidson has taken the wraps off the new Fat Boy Gray Ghost in international markets. This special edition bike is part of the company’s Icons Collection and commemorates 35 years of the original Fat Boy.
Beginning with the design, the Fat Boy Gray Ghost has the same body panels as the regular Fat Boy. It looks beefy, muscular, and commands road presence, especially with that fat rear tyre. What sets the Gray Ghost apart from the regular Fat Boy is the special paint scheme.
Harley-Davidson calls it the Reflection finish, which was achieved by using a physical vapour deposition or PVD technique. The company used to use this method to paint smaller body panels in the past, but this is the first time that larger body panels, like the fuel tank, have been painted using the PVD technique. The end result is a shiny, chrome-like finish, which makes the Fat Boy quite attractive.

Other bits that make the bike special include a leather seat, 3D tank medallion, and laced trim and tassels.
Powering the bike is the Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-twin engine that makes close to 101bhp and 165Nm. The bike comes with three ride modes- Rain, Road, and Sport.
The Fat Boy Gray Ghost is limited to 1990 units worldwide. While Harley-Davidson has not made any mention about any allocations for India yet, if the bike does come here, expect it to cost well north of Rs. 25 lakh.
