Facebook working on electric two-wheelers

- Social media giant has patented electric two-wheeler

- Is two-wheel drive and two-wheel steering

- Still in concept stage

Facebook, the social media giant is now planning to get into the world of two-wheelers. Recently, the company filed for patent images that reveals its latest work – an electric two-wheeler.

From the pictures, it looks as if the American brand is working on a platform that will be used to develop a range of two-wheelers. This platform is a two-wheel drive with a two-wheel steering. This makes us believe that it’s a robotic electric two-wheeler and there’s no need of human intervention. There are two independent motors driving each wheel via a belt drive system.

This two-wheeler also sports disc brakes, but are mounted inside – something we don’t see on standard motorcycles and scooters. The patent details revealed that it’s also a self-balancing vehicle and this is being accomplished through a control loop stabilizer.

Like the rest of the tech companies getting into the world of automobiles, Facebook also wants to make their presence felt. We should expect something concrete from the company in the next few years.
