- Styling inspired by the BMW R 1300 GS
- Model shown has alloy wheels
- Gets TFT display and all-LED lights
The BMW F 450 GS adventure motorcycle’s patent images have been unearthed. We’ve exclusively got access to these images that reveal what the new baby BMW GS will look like.

Design
Starting with the design, the F 450 GS looks close to what the concept bike, which was shown at the Auto Expo earlier this year, looked like. This is evident from the shape of the beak, radiator shrouds, chunky fuel tank with its cuts and creases, as well as the tail section - except for the omission of the exposed subframe seen on the concept. In many ways, the F 450 GS’ design appears to take a lot of inspiration from the BMW R 1300 GS.

Ergonomics
The riding position of the bike also appears to be comfortable. The high-set handlebars and the positioning of the footpegs in relation to the seat should translate to a neutral and comfortable rider’s triangle. The pillion seat also looks fairly generous.

Features
The F 450 GS will have all-LED lights, adjustable levers, and a large, colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. It is also possible to see a rotary-style jog dial, as seen on the R 1300 GS to navigate through the menus and various functions on the bike.

In terms of safety, the bike will get dual-channel ABS that should also be switchable, traction control, ride modes, and more.
The Engine
The bike is powered by a 450cc, parallel-twin motor that makes 48bhp and around 45Nm. This engine will be paired with a six-speed gearbox, and BMW claims it will be quite characterful.

The Chassis
The bike will use a steel bridge trellis frame with a bolt-on sub-frame. The frame is suspended by a USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike seen in the images has a 19-inch front/ 17-inch rear alloy wheel setup. Braking is taken care of by a disc at the front and the rear.

Launch Expectations
With the patent images out, the bike should be launched around the end of this year.
