Ducati XDiavel V4 unveiled

- Has distinct sports cruiser design

- Powered by a 1158cc, V4 engine

- India launch expected this year

The new Ducati XDiavel V4 has been unveiled to the world. This is Ducati’s take on a sports cruiser, and it gets the firepower of the 1,158cc, Granturismo V4 engine. This engine makes 168bhp at 10,750rpm and 126Nm at 7,500rpm. However, that’s not the only headlining feature of the bike. Ducati has gone to great lengths to distinguish the XDiavel V4 from the Diavel V4.

The design of the Ducati XDiavel V4 is striking yet beautiful. From the shape of the LED headlight to the teardrop-shaped fuel tank, floating effect of the tail section, and the integrated LED tail light, the XDiavel V4 looks sporty and muscular. Attention to detail, such as the brushed aluminium effect of the panels under the fuel tank and the star shaped design of the rear alloy wheel, draws attention. Not to mention the new colours, Burning Red and Lava Black, add to its appeal.

Under that beautiful exterior is an aluminium, monocoque frame. Suspension duties are taken care of by a fully adjustable, 50mm USD fork and a monoshock. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends, fitted with Pirelli Diable Rosso III tyres. What makes the XDiavel stand out further is the fat, 240-section rear tyre.

Ducati has also worked on optimising the ergonomics of the XDiavel V4 in comparison to the outgoing XDiavel 1260. The handlebar is positioned closer to the rider, while the rider and passenger seat has more foam for better cushioning. The pillion seat is also wider and more spacious than before.

Also, as expected of a Ducati, the XDiavel V4 has a comprehensive electronics suite. It includes traction control, ABS, three power modes, and four ride modes (Sport, Urban, Touring, and Wet). All settings for the above mentioned functions can be accessed via the new 6.9-inch, colour TFT display which features Bluetooth connectivity as standard.

While the new XDiavel has only been unveiled in international markets, expect Ducati to launch the bike in India later this year.
