Ducati Streetfighter V2 India launch: Top 5 Highlights

Ducati India has updated its portfolio with the launch of the Streetfighter V2. This new version of the Streetfighter series is available in a single variant. Here we list the top five highlights from the Indian launch of the new Ducati Streetfighter V2.

Ducati Streetfighter V2 Design

The new Streetfighter V2 draws styling cues from the company’s flagship naked roadster motorcycle, the Streetfighter V4. Thus, the motorcycle packs a twin-pod headlight with a V-shaped LED DRL that is inspired by the famous grin of the Joker. It also gets a muscular fuel tank, flat handlebar, silver-coloured radiator shrouds, sporty engine cowl, split-style saddle, single-sided swingarm, and an underbelly exhaust setup. Unlike the Streetfighter V4, this naked roadster is available in a single variant and it is listed in one paint option – Ducati Red. The dry weight of the motorcycle is rated at 178kg.

Ducati Streetfighter V2 Features

The feature list on the Streetfighter V2 comprises full-LED lighting and a 4.3-inch full-TFT dashboard. The electronic aids work with a six-axis IMU inertial platform and it comprises three riding modes (Sport, Road, and Wet), power modes, cornering ABS with slide-by-brake function, traction control system, wheelie control, a bi-directional quickshifter, and engine brake control.

Ducati Streetfighter V2 Engine

The Streetfighter V2 is powered by a BS6-compliant 955cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor is tuned to churn out a maximum output of 150.9bhp at 10,750rpm and a peak torque of 101.4Nm at 9,000rpm. The service interval is 12,000km or 12 months while the valve clearance intervals are 24,000km long.

Ducati Streetfighter V2 Hardware

The new Streetfighter V2 is built around a monocoque frame that uses the engine as the stressed member. The shock absorption duties are performed by 43mm Showa BPF front forks and a Sachs rear mono-shock – both fully adjustable. The braking setup includes twin 320mm discs with Brembo M4-32 monobloc four-piston calipers at the front and a single 245mm rotor with a two-piston caliper.

Ducati Streetfighter V2 Price and Rivals

The new Ducati Streetfighter V2 is available in a single variant and it has been priced at Rs 17.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India), making it nearly Rs 5 lakh cheaper than the Streetfighter V4. In terms of pricing, this Italian naked roadster sits very close to the likes of Triumph Speed Triple RS, Harley-Davidson Sportster S, and the BMW R nineTScrambler.
