Ducati Multistrada 1260 - What else can you buy

Ducati has launched their flagship adventure tourer in India at a price of Rs 15.99 lakhs. If you are on a similar budget, there are six bikes that you could choose from. We list out the bikes you can buy for a similar budget as the Ducati Multistrada 1260.

The Multistrada 1260 directly competes against the BMW R 1200 GS, which retails at Rs 15.70 lakhs. It is powered by an 1170cc, boxer-twin engine that produces 124bhp and 125Nm of torque. BMW also offers a sports-tourer in this price range, the R 1200 RS. Powering the bike is the same 1170cc engine as the R1200 GS. However, the R 1200 RS has a slightly lower power output of 121.6bhp. The bike will cost you Rs 15.40 lakhs.

The Bavarian manufacturer spoils buyers for choice in this list with another offering, the S 1000 R. The streetfighter version of its flagship superbike, the S 1000 RR uses a retuned version of the 999cc inline four engine delivering 158bhp and 112Nm of torque. The R NineT Scrambler is priced at Rs 16.30 lakhs.

There are also a couple of Italian street bikes that you can buy. The MV Agusta Brutale 800 uses a 748cc inline three engine which churns out 107bhp and 83Nm of torque. The streetfighter retails at a price of Rs 15.59 lakhs. You can also opt for the supersport version of this bike, the F3 800, at Rs 16.31 lakhs. Then there is the Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V, which is a retro bike styled to look like a scrambler. The transversely-mounted V-twin engine with shaft drive is its highlight. The powertrain delivers 108bhp and 108Nm of torque and retails at Rs 16.04 lakhs.

The Suzuki Intruder M1800 is a power cruiser, which boasts of the widest rear tyre on a production bike. It is powered by a V-twin engine churning out 127bhp and 160Nm of torque. It is priced at Rs 16.04 lakhs. Another power cruiser in the list is from Ducati’s own stables - the Diavel - priced at Rs 16.10 lakhs. It is poweered by a 1198cc V-twin engine delivering 159bhp and 130Nm of torque. If a power cruiser is not to your taste, then you can look at the XDiavel. It is pricier at Rs 16.48 lakhs, but boasts of the same engine as the Multistrada 1260.
