Ducati Monster 797 Plus- What else can you buy

Launched at Rs 8.03 lakhs (ex-showroom, India), the Ducati Monster 797 Plus is the most affordable Monster you can buy in India. However, around the same price, there are 10 other motorcycles on offer. Here is the list of what else you can buy at the price of the Ducati Monster 797 Plus.

The bike competes with three bikes in India- the Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple S and the Suzuki GSX-S750. While the Z900 is priced at Rs 7.68 lakhs, the Street Triple and GSX-S750 cost Rs 8.62 lakhs and Rs 7.45 lakhs respectively.

Ducati also has the Scrambler range around the price of the Monster 797 Plus. There is the Scrambler Icon, the standard version in the range, the Scrambler Full Throttle, inspired by flat track racers and the Scrambler Classic with its neo-retro appeal.

There is the Scrambler Mach 2.0 which sports a ‘70s inspired paint scheme. The entire Scrambler range is powered by the same 803cc L-twin engine as the Monster 797. It produces 74bhp and 68Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed transmission. You can get your hands on the Scrambler Icon at Rs 7.23 lakhs while the Scrambler Full Throttle and Scrambler Classic cost Rs 8.49 lakhs. The Scrambler Mach 2.0 is slightly more expensive priced at Rs 8.56 lakhs.

Triumph also has motorcycles with a retro appeal. There is the Street Twin at Rs 7.42 lakhs and the Bonneville T100 priced at Rs 8.54 lakhs. While the Street Twin exudes a bit of modernity in its styling, the Bonneville T100 looks like it time travelled straight from the ‘70s.

If these bikes less venturesome, there is the Triumph Street Scrambler priced at Rs 8.40 lakhs. Based on the Street Twin, the Scrambler gets raised dual exhausts and an engine skid plate to make it off-road capable. All the bikes use a 900cc parallel-twin engine that produces 54bhp and 80Nm of torque via a five-speed gearbox.

Along with the streetfighters and modern-classic motorcycles aforementioned, this list also includes a fully-faired motorcycle from Honda. The CBR650F is Honda’s middleweight supersport motorcycle and entry-level inline four offering in India. It uses a 649cc engine that puts out 90bhp and 60.5Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission. You could get hold of the Honda CBR650F at a price of Rs 7.37 lakhs.
