Ducati has launched the Hypermotard 950 in India and has priced it at Rs 11.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The motorcycle replaces the Hypermotard 939 in the country and costs a premium of Rs 82,000 over the latter. While the bike is new, it continues to sport the design language of a supermoto. However as compared to its predecessor, the Hypermotard 950 gets sharper and more aggressive lines and revised riding ergonomics. Apart from tweaking the design, Ducati has also reduced the weight of the motorcycle by a whole 4 kg thanks to lighter engine parts, aluminium fork tubes and revised trellis frame.

The Hypermotard 950 is powered by a 937cc, L-Twin engine, 112bhp of power and 96Nm of torque. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and a hydraulic slipper clutch for lighter clutch lever pull and smoother gear shifts. Ducati is also offering the bike with a quick shifter as an optional accessory. Furthermore, Ducati has equipped the Hypermotard 950 with LED DRLs while with electronics aids include a cornering ABS, wheelie control, traction control along with three rider modes; Sport, Touring and Urban.

It also comes with a full-colour 4.3 inch TFT display that has been inspired by the Panigale V4. The display comes with the Ducati Multimedia System that can be paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth. In terms of cycle parts, the Hypermotard 950 uses Marzocchi forks up front and a Sachs monoshock at the rear. As for braking, it gets 320mm discs up front held by Brembo M4 callipers and a single 245mm disc at the rear.

Bookings for the motorcycle have begun with deliveries to take place in the coming weeks. The Ducati Hypermotard 950’s biggest competitor in the Indian market is the Aprilia Dorsoduro 900.
